Josh Elrod

Production-minded design for rooms, sets, objects, and retail environments with a point of view.

Wilder installation with mirrors, speakers, sculptural furniture, and wall pieces

Interiors first, then the objects that make them believable.

The work moves between domestic spaces, retail installations, custom furniture, and small sculptural details. Everything is arranged around use, mood, material, and story.

“I can find fucking anything.”

Set decoration and design built from character out. The room should tell you who lives there before anyone says a word.

Sourcing is the craft: period-correct, budget-honest, found fast. Prop houses, estate sales, artist studios, forgotten storage rooms, and the back rooms of places that do not have websites.

Wilder started as a design store and became a design platform: artist launches, cultural programming, pop-ups, a motel rebrand, and environments that turned product into a lived-in world.

A retail eye, a performer’s timing, and a production brain.

Josh brings together visual culture, sourcing, humor, and practical fabrication knowledge to make spaces that feel specific instead of styled.

Eleven years running Wilder in Nashville shaped a clear point of view: design can be sharp, welcoming, artful, and commercially useful at the same time. The store became an award-winning platform for objects, interiors, talks, launches, and events.

Before and alongside that work, Josh spent more than a decade as a performer with Blue Man Group. That experience shows up in the way he thinks about collaboration, how he sees visual nuances and what it takes to make a cohesive presentation.

He is comfortable moving between research, sourcing, styling, vendors, fabricators, artists, and clients, keeping the big feeling intact while getting the details handled.
